As you reply to your classmate, attempt to extend the conversation by examining their claims or arguments in more depth or by responding to the posts that they make to you. Keep the discussion on target and try to analyze things in as much detail as you can. For instance, you might consider sharing additional ways that information literacy skills can help them be critical consumers of information. (50 words or more)

After reading both chapter one and the article “At Sea in a Deluge of Data” I think that information literacy is a class formed to give you the knowledge to be able to research and to be able to expand your learning ability throughout your life and careers. It seems that its very important to careers and employers that college students have the proper teaching before they graduate. This way they don’t get out of college and lack important research skills and things that can benefit them throughout there whole life after graduation. Some of this information can be cited from “At Sea in a Deluge of Data”. The article gives allot of detail on what we are lacking as students and why information literacy will help us.
At first I thought this class was not necessary but as I learned what information literacy was I found out this class if completed correctly would really help with allot of things. By improving my information literacy skills I can be able  to research critical information and use that towards my teaching career. I’ve learned that when I’m done with this class I will be able to write a good research paper, gather information needed and properly cite it. This class can be helpful throughout the rest of my time at Ashford. I want to be able to obtain as much information as I can so i can develop skills that i never thought I would be able to do. if i want to be a teacher i have to know how to research and cite. I can use that ability to be a fast critical thinker and obtain information about the world. APA style is important because i want to be able to teach my students the proper way of writing and the only way to be able to do that is to be able to write correctly myself. its not just learning about information literacy its being able to correctly learn in this class and pass with a good understanding of what the objective of this course was.
